Welcome to another TMCnet Week in Review, recapping the week in the conferencing sector. Companies in this space continue to release their figures for Q2, while product and service announcements keep on rolling in as usual.
First up, ClearOne announced its results for the first and second quarters of 2012 this week, with Q2 ending June 30, 2012. The company managed $7.1 million of gross profit so far this year, with a net income of $575,000.
While ClearOne (News - Alert) has managed strong numbers so far this year, it failed to match last year's record-setting results, due to overall softness in the market. President, CEO and chairman of the company, Zee Hakimoglu, remained optimistic, however, stating that new products to be released at the end of the month will likely rejuvenate revenue.
Easymeeting.net also released its financial results for the first half of the year this week, reporting record profits as well as a considerable increase in customers. Sales volume of the company's key offering, easyConference increased by a whopping 125 percent over the previous year.
“Easymeeting.net’s H1 results were positive in terms of sales, new customers and usage of our great services,” said Evan J. Andriopoulos, CEO at Easymeeting. “This, coupled with the continued maturation of our channel partners easymeeting.net strategies, will keep us well on track to meet and exceed expectations."
In other news, Force 3 announced a partnership with VSGi, which dictates that VSGi will integrate its Telepresence (News - Alert) and AV solutions with Force 3's solutions. The aim is to enhance Force 3's video solution offering, providing customers with a broader, more complete collaborative tool.
“Together, Force 3 and VSGi are positioned to offer industry leading end-to-end unified communications solutions to customers nationwide, said James Copperthite, VP of Sales and Marketing at VSGi. “We are thrilled about the partnership, which allows us to deliver a superior solution and experience to the customer.”
Vidtel and ZTE also announced a partnership this week. The marketing agreement, which spans three years, will bring Vidtel's cloud-based MeetMe video conferencing service to ZTE's (News - Alert) hardware and software endpoints, such as the T800, T700 and T100.
MeetMe is available with ZTE products at Telecom and Data. However, ZTE USA resellers in North America will all be able to offer the service to small and medium sized enterprises.
Lastly, Carbon8 assisted ACT Conferencing this week to launch a new enhanced website which showcases the company's ongoing innovation in the market. ACT chose Carbon8 because the company brings the right combination of B2B expertise and a firm understanding of ACT's business.
Carbon8 gave ACT's website a new look and an improved user experience, featuring clearer navigation and product comparisons. The design is said to reflect ACT's aim of delivering efficient, effective and intuitive tools.
